The Liberal High School bowling team opened their season on Tuesday at Billy’s Ayr Lanes as they hosted a triangular with Holcomb and Garden City. The Varsity girls finished the day with 2105 total pinfall earning 4 WAC points. Terah Head lead the team with a 452 series and was second overall. JV girls finished with 1906 total pinfall and earned all 11 WAC points. Top 3 scores for the JV girls all came from Liberal bowlers. Alejandra Rios placed first with a 438 series, Ashley Munoz placed second with a 436 series, and Frida Civis placed third with a 415 series.
Varsity boys finished the day with 2652 total pinfall and earned 4.5 WAC points. Cody Bremenkamp finished with a team best 587 series and was second overall. JV boys collected a pinfall of 1720 and earned 2 WAC points. Carlos Campos had a team best 475 series and placed second overall.
Coach Andrew Potter said he was pleased with the way our program performed today. Our JV girls team gave a terrific performance as a team and fed off each others success. Our varsity boys team was very competitive and took a step forward at raising the bar. Overall, today was a day that we can use as a measuring tool to drive ourselves in effort and performance.
